Dealing with family

Now when I first started this journey, I was a student living away from my family in university. It was easier to control my diet because I bought the food, made it myself and decided what times I wanted to eat. Living at home is a whole different story, food is bought for you, made for you at a certain time and family will not necessarily understand what you are doing in terms of weight loss. Everyone is on my back if I don't go to the gym or eat something they deem as fattening food. It is very frustrating, I almost wish I was doing the weight loss journey in secret, which is impossible. It's a battle.

Looking at it though now that I write this post, my mom has been supportive in her own way. She has gone and bought goat milk (which she has never bought before I mentioned it is a healthier option), whole wheat breads, a lot of fruits and she has started sending my little brother swimming.

The point I am trying to make is family will always support you in their own way, whether it's through little changes like my mom buying goat milk because it is healthier or reminding you the days you miss gym. They mean well even though at the time they are telling you these things, it is easy to get angry at them because you feel like you don't need anyone to tell you anything. Wanting to do things at your own accord in a family is difficult but reminding yourself they mean well is the most important thing!

Anyway back to my weight loss, yes I did record the video diary for my weight loss but I have been having trouble uploading it. As soon as I can figure it out, I will edit it into this post.

Have a good week!
