Graduate


Wow..it has been ages since I have been on the blog. I stopped blogging because I kind of got lost in my books and then when my exams were over I got lost in parties and having a good time celebrating finishing university. I have had 3 amazing years in university, I met new people, experienced new cultures, living on my own helped me gain greater independence and overall I had a great time. I graduated this Tuesday so I officially have a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Economics. I AM A GRADUATE! 

Anyway weight journey, well I have gained 7lbs. Not good but I have not done any exercise, and my eating habits have been very bad. But I am glad I have not gained as much as I thought I did. Anyway I am back to finish what I started nearly a year ago now and I am more focused than ever.

Exams



My exams are starting next week. I am very nervous about how it will go but at the same time, I want it over and done with so that I can enjoy the sunshine and just get a chance to relax. Anyway, I have just been revising and nothing else. I have lost 1lb this week and I will see you next week. Got to get back to my revision!

The Royal Wedding


This has been the talk around United Kingdom all of yesterday and it is going to continue for a few more weeks. The bride looked absolutely stunning. Throughout the UK, people threw street parties and it was great to watch all the action on TV whilst eating and drinking all day sitting on my couch. If there was ever a day to truly describe me as a couch potato, that day was yesterday lol. I wish them all the best in their marriage.
Anyway back to my reality, there has been no weight loss for me this week but I have decided to share my waist measurement. When I first started my weight loss journey, my waist was 35inches and now it is a cool 30.5inches. I was more at risk of becoming diabetic because my waist was more than 32inches before. I am very happy with progress and my ultimate aim is to have a waist that is about 28inches.

Chocolate Cake!




So on Tuesday after a long session in the gym, my friend and I went into a grocery store to get a few essentials. Whilst we were in there, we happened to bump into this beautiful chocolate cake and we both could not stop staring at it mainly because it normally costs £20 but they were doing a promotion and the cake had been cut done to just £3. I mean, we just had to have it. And it was not a small cake...it was a birthday sized kind of cake just for two greedy people. I have not had cake in well over 6months so it tasted so good and it is safe for me to say I have more than satisfied my cake cravings for a year lol. I did eat the cake with calorie content in mind though and I think because I did not chomp down my half of the cake in one day and really keeping up with my exercise sessions, it has helped in my weight loss this week. I have lost 2.8lbs this week. I suppose it is all about how you incorporate the unhealthy foods into your diet now and then. 

 I am starting to get excited because I know very soon I will be in the 150s and also my BMI is out of the 30s.

Revision on my mind



Nothing much has happened for me this week. I have just been trying to eat good and keeping up with my exercise routine and keeping up also with my revision. I have so much revision to do, it's crazy. Going to the gym has almost become therapy for me and  a little break. Who would have thought exercise would ever become therapy for me? Funny, 7months ago I hated exercising but now it just come so naturally to me because I kept on going even when I didn't want to. My body has adjusted to exercise so well. So I have gone and bought a new scale and I have weighed myself. No changes this week but not disheartening for me at all. I am just glad my body if functioning well because of all the good exercise and food.

Stretch Marks

As I am losing weight, I have noticed stretch marks appearing on my body especially my boobs, top half of my thighs, my arms and a little bit on the sides of my belly. The ones on the side of my belly are not really noticeable but the rest are. They are significantly lighter than the rest of my body and it is a bit annoying for me. I have been reading about it and from the information I gather, I am supposing because I am still losing weight, they will either get worse or better but once I stop losing weight and I have settled at my goal, my body will try and repair them by thinning them out. I am hoping they will especially the ones on my boobs as they are quite wide and very noticeable. With all this said, yes my stretch marks do bother me from time to time but as they are not detrimental to my health the way being overweight is. It is just a little problem that I can live with happily for the rest of my life if they do not get better. 
Still eating well and hitting the gym and my body is loving it.
I haven't forgotten about dinner pictures, I will post them soon.
Have not weighed myself this week because my scale broke down on me. It said I weighed 300lbs when I stepped on it!

Visualising


 I have been taking pictures of some of the meals I have had over the week and I decided I would share them with you. These are pictures of some of my lunches and as you can see they are mainly salad based. When I eat bread I eat whole bread that is super seeded. I just love the taste of it. I love salads now. I used to hate them and if I had some I would only stick to lettuce, the iceberg type because it tasted quite sweet to me. However I have taught myself to eat other types like rocket, spinach, watercress and I love them all. I can add different things in my salads like avocado, olives, carrots etc.  I have discovered that salads do not have to be boring, just adding different things makes all the difference. My salad dressing is usually olive oil and I put a mixture of garlic and parsley herbs or some black pepper granules, or lemon if I want that zest taste. Fruit is also an essential part to my diet. If I ate my lunch for instance and I did not feel full, I have a fruit to supplement that or if I need to snack. 
My gym sessions have been going great. I have been to the gym all week and I have started to run on the treadmill. It is very hard so far but, I have just started so I know if I keep it up it will get better.I have lost a little over 3lbs this week.

I am back

Hello wherever you are, I hope you are having a  wonderful day or night. So I have been on a nice, quite lengthy hiatus where I have been eating as and when I please and going to the gym quite minimally. Its been quite educational in terms of me knowing how to maintain my weight because my weight has been fluctuating between 167 and 170 for the whole time I have been relaxing so I am quite happy with how well I can maintain my weight.

Anyway the sun has started to shine, warming up the beautiful land and everyone is starting to wear less and less clothing. Summer is coming and I thought it's time to end my little hiatus and continue what I started. I have made a food guideline which I hope I can keep for the next month and also a small target of losing between 5-10lbs for end of April. Hoping to achieve that goal and I am going to put the work in, because the classic line my mother likes to use, TO LIVE LIKE A KING, YOU BETTER WORK LIKE ONE.

Help


I have been to the gym a lot this week and my diet has been quite good, but I have managed to shift 1lb. This weight loss journey has become quite difficulty for me with time. I am losing less and less pounds as the weeks go by and this whole last month gone I have managed to only shift less than 5lb. I have been trying to read on the internet how to get back up to speed, even looked into crush diets...I would never crush diet simply because I could never do without food. I am not even strong enough to contemplate not eating. If you guys have any advise on what exercise I should be doing, diet and calories etc. to help me get back up to speed, that would be greatly appreciated. Nothing crazy lol!

Changes

I think my body is doing this thing whereby I lose weight every other week now..so if I work out hard this week, I don't lose weight and then I relax the following week and the weight literally falls off. I don't why this is happening but either way I have been happy with the way I have been working out and my body is stronger for it, so is my emotional balance I suppose. I look in the mirror and my body is changing. I have muscles that are starting to look visible in my legs now! My clavicle is staring to appear as well.

Good times




So this week I decided to change the machines I use at the gym. I normally use the treadmill and the elliptical machine for 40minutes all together. This week I have been using the treadmill and a cross trainer. I know the cross trainer and elliptical machine are quite similar but I feel I can do more on the cross trainer. On top of this I have been experimenting with boxing. It is fun but the gloves they have in the gym...they smelled extra funky lol. I need to invest in my own gloves.  I have also gone and purchased some dumbbells. They are very cute and pink and weigh 3lbs each. I have been using them a lot when I am at home for my arms, shoulders strength training and boy have I discovered new muscles lol.

I have been hanging out with my friends at odd hours this week, going to bed at 7am.....loads of popcorn, pringles, alcohol, karaoke, films, lots of conversation...so I have not been helping my weight loss at all. But the good times were worth the junk! Good times helped me shift 3lb this week!

"sigh"

I am feeling quite frustrated to be quite honest. My scale has not moved this week. I have been eating healthy food, been to the gym 5times this week and no movement "sigh". I am considering doing a food diary again like I did in the beginning. I know the scale is not the ultimate measure of my health but its just making me feel a bit down.
But I will keep it moving

I go H.A.M





So I have been basically to the gym everyday this week. 
 I had not been to the gym in a while, so I found doing my normal routine of 20minutes on the elliptical machine and my 20minutes inclined walk on the treadmill  quite hard at first, like seriously my body hurt like mad the next day but I never stop, I push myself....I know what I want and I am going to work my very best to try and achieve that. Besides that my week has really rather been blah! 

I am really looking forward to hitting the 60s now...I don't remember the last time I weighed anything in the 160s so you can imagine my happiness when I reach that. Lost a little over a pound this week...And my picture is someone who is inspiring me to lose weight right now and that is Jennifer Hudson..She looks amazing!

Back at it



Well I am back from my holiday and indulge was the word I tell you. But it was x-mas and new year so what the heck. Anyway as with any indulgence of anything there is consequences and my scale happens to let me know that.  Do I feel guilty for this over indulgence? No because it was just for a short period of time , I was happy , had so much fun and now its time to get back to business. All work and no play makes Jake a dull boy. I have gained 2lbs. But I do no how to lose them. I am heading out to the gym as soon as I finish writing this and grocery shopping for some good healthy food. I have missed the gym so much and I'm sure it misses me too lol.
